take a look at what happened in san francisco this morning. that is water shooting into the air in the north beach area of the city. news chopper 2 was over the scene as they capped the water after 11:00 a.m. a paving contractor hit a water main this morning. and a few blocks away, crews on the embarcadero hit a gas line at peer 15 as they were trying to install a fire hydrant. peer 15 was evacuated according to the fire department. pg&e crews responded and capped the leak by 10:45. but they are now investigating why the crew didn't know where

a major road in contra costa county reopened after a crash that killed one person about 1:45 p.m. this afternoon. one person was trapped in a car, another vehicle went up in flames. a 67-year-old man was killed. another person was slightly hurt. north bound lanes were shot down for several hours. but reopened 30 minutes ago. this election californians are being asked to approve a tax hike but we found the state is being cheated out of millions every year. ktvu's heather holmes tracked down the worse tax evaders to ask why they failed to pay up. that is tonight's special report. >> reporter: our such led us to this high rise in downtown san francisco. a law office.
